My background
I'm a biologist interested in applying genomic tools for biodiversity conservation. I hold a PhD in Genetics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where I investigated the
phylogeography and hybridization between sea turtles species. Since then, I have widened my expertise by working on population and conservation genomics of endangered species (anteaters, sloths, Asian elephants, hyenas, aquatic warblers, softshell turtles, howler monkeys), developing new methods for genomic data analysis, and learning new genomic methods. I am currently a Visitor Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
